Lake Powell Adventure
We loaded our camping gear in the blow up kayak with me in the tube behind and set up at dusk.  The water is substantially higher than last year, (50 feet) so we were surprised when we woke up the next morning to have kayaked to the same place last year was the end of the inlet.

 Lovely glassy water.
But not for long.  Around 10 am, the winds started and didn't stop.
While we played Five Crowns, our kayak blew away, but Isaac saved it.

This was where we hit from the sun and wind while playing Five Crowns and making popcorn.

 Sand art.
Ants randomly made a smile on the fruit snack.
The next morning, we decided to not pull be behind because it was so much harder to row, so we all squeezed in, tight fit!!!!  It was so so windy!  It was much faster to walk on the shore than paddle.
Long story short, we ended up getting rescued.  The winds were so strong!!!

Steamboat and Toyei

Elder Daffer had been shown some neat areas by the Branch President.  They used their exercise time to show us around.  The branches had been a living structure for The President's grandparents.
We stayed overnight in the church which was so great because first of all, it saved us money, but we didn't have to drive an hour in the dark, plus we got to spend more time with the Elders.

 A really old kiva.
Carved out stairs in the rock wall.

 Justin must climb everything.

We went on top of a mountain where there were thousands of pottery shards. We found out that when they break the pottery, it's part of a prayer.
Notice my new ring from Zuni, famous for their inlays.

Toyei

Toyei had been built using asbestos in their materials so it was closed down.  It's now an abandoned place that people like to visit (and missionaries to burn their one year white shirt).

Sanders and Steamboat

The Anderson's home.  They were so excited to see Isaac.

It was heartwarming to see how much this family loves Isaac.

JoAnne got a personal lesson how to make fry bread.

Justin had to try a Koolaid soaked pickle  He didn't like it.
And the rez dog that had been begging for it rejected it also.
