Me and Elder Simonsen weren't able to visit very many people over the past week, and not very much happened once again. We got Subway and the next day we got sick. I practiced piano and pretty much did nothing else that whole day. That was fun!

Yesterday, though, we were able to visit a bunch of people, and we got a new investigator named Cody! He's 9. He promised us he would read the Book of Mormon before we came back for our second visit!

We also went to Ramah on Sunday and visited with some recent converts and the Bishop and watched "The Restoration" DVD. That was pretty fun.

Thanks for reading my Email, and thanks for all the support!

I had a great week! Me and Elder Simonsen went for a hike at El Morro National Monument right after we emailed on Monday, and it was a fun hike.

Not much has been happening over the week. I learned "Lead Kindly Light" on the piano. I included a recording of me playing it! (I can't figure out how to attach)

Sorry my email is so short! Thank you for reading this.

So there was a cat sitting in the driver seat of a truck, and when me and Elder Simonsen saw it, we started calling to it to get it to come to us. When it spotted us, it reaaaallllly slowwwwly sunk downwards onto the seat until we couldn't see it anymore. I have a picture of the cat! This picture was taken a few weeks afterwards, but it is still in the same driver's seat as it was before.

Oh yeah, we saw some Shalako dancers doing what's called a 'Cake Walk'. that was pretty interesting. Feel free to look up pictures on the internet!

(I found this on youtube)

I got the phone case, by the way. We should be getting our phones at the beginning of next month. Right now, I'm enjoying wearing the phone case around our house and acting like a cowboy. "There ain't room enough for the two of us."

***
I went on an exchange on wednesday/thursday to Fort Wingate. I forgot to mention that. While I was on the exchange Elder Kelly from Fort Wingate was playing around with the phone case, too.

Not too much happened this past week.

I went and hauled wood for some investigators, which means we chopped down a tree and chopped it into little pieces. I had a lot of fun with that. Elder Poulsen was using his chainsaw and me and Elder Simonsen along with an investigator named Cody were using axes to chop the wood into smaller pieces. Elder Poulsen was using his chainsaw to chop the tree when the tree suddenly fell over on top of him! I think God saved his life when this dinky tree behind him caught the tree and held it so that Elder Poulsen didn't get hurt. That was pretty crazy.

I left my proselyting bag in Ramah for most of this past week, so I had to go around with just a Book of Mormon again for a few days. We drove to Ramah yesterday to get it back, so that's good.

When we drove to Gallup on Thursday for district meeting, and afterwards we went to Panda Express where we got free Chinese food because there was a member who bought everything for us at the end of the line. That was really nice of him.

Well, I took a couple of pictures! Me and Elder Simonsen went ultra-crazy taking pictures of a  sunset (I only attached two).

I must have forgotten to tell you that I bought an axe. Well, I bought an axe! It's called a "Fiscars" axe. It's pretty nice. I will be carrying it with me throughout the mission, and eventually I'll take it home. Elder Simonsen has the same axe, too. And yes, we are getting along🤓

From my studies: Elder Simonsen really liked this one: Proverbs 21:19 "It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman." This is true.
Proverbs 24:16 "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief." I like that one. The wicked only 'fall' once and they fall into mischief, but the righteous learn from their mistakes.

This past week has been pretty exciting.

Elder Briscoe got transferred to Chinle, and we drove to Gallup in the morning on Tuesday to drop him off at the transfer van. That is where I picked up my new companion. His name is Elder Simonsen. He really likes shoes. Also, he is the designated driver, so I'm STILL not the designated driver! Honestly, I'm kind of relieved. I never was a very a good driver, anyway.

While me and Elder Simonsen were in Ramah on Wednesday, we were being guided around by a member who was very friendly and willing to help us get to know the people in Ramah a bit better. We visited an investigator named Tye and were prompted to share the Plan of Salvation with her, so we went through the first two questions we usually ask (Where did we come from and why are we here) and then this member bears his testimony and abruptly cuts our lesson by saying "That was a good message. Thank you, Elders!" even though we had never gotten to the last question (Where are we going). He wasn't even busy, he must have thought we were done or something, even though he knows the missionary lessons inside-out. Anyway, he was a big help in showing us around Ramah a bit, but he wasn't a big help with the messages we shared because he kept cutting us off using that same sentence to every place we went in Ramah. That bugged us a little bit, but oh well.

I was able to share my testimony during testimony meeting on Sunday, and I used a scripture in Mosiah chapter 4 verse 9 which says "Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all things which the Lord can comprehend." I really like sharing that scripture to other people to help them grow their testimonies because it is such a powerful scripture to share with others. Not only that, but I truly do believe that God created all things, and that I can't comprehend the infinite power and wisdom that he has. I'm so glad he loves me and doesn't strike me down with a lightning bolt for all the sins I committed in the past. Jesus Christ played a big part in my life as well so that I don't have to feel the guilt and shame of my past sins. That helps me love both Jesus Christ and God so much more. I love this Gospel so much!

Well, I would tell more stories and stuff, but not much happened this week. I took some pictures, though!

The first picture is of a Zuni oven that they use to cook bread.
The last picture is of me if I had a huge chin. We used the fish-eye lens mode on our camera. Hehe.

Thanks for everything!

Zuni is a slow-ish area, but I am enjoying it anyway. We had a little snowfall for a few days but it all melted now, so I don't have to worry about that!

I have been studying in the Bible a lot recently. I'm currently reading in Proverbs. I remember there was a scripture in Proverbs that said to discipline your child with a rod. I don't have my scriptures with me to email, but I would totally tell you what I studied in there.
We mostly tract whenever we can't think of anyone to see, so we are usually visiting potential investigators and less-active members. We tract sometimes, and I enjoy it too.
